PREDICT:

I predict that this question is going to be about the four operations.

READ:

I think of a number, multiply it by 3 and then divide by 2. If the result is 18, what was the original number?

CLARIFY:

I had nothing to clarify in this problem.

MY TOOL:

The tool I used to work out this problem was ‘Work Backwards’.

THE BIG QUESTION:

18 X 2 /3= Answer

SUMMARY:

First I multiplied 18 by 2 and then divided that number by 3. This gave me 12. I then checked my answer by completing the following sum. 12 X 3/2=18.

MY ANSWER:

My answer was 12.
